15 km 4 hrs plus about 2 hrs of innumerable stops at 40 degrees
in the shade where a lot of the time we were not.
What to mention about today but the heat! Quite a lot of asphalt, a good bit of it in the shade though. Had a first long stop at a makeshift bar which last year had been just a caravan in a garden - we were here last year, Andrea and I, and recognized the place. This caravan bar did not seem good enough at the time, but then we did not know that there was no other bar to come until our destination. So this time we stopped and found the setup was largely improved. Tables and benches had been put under the trees. The garage behind the caravan housed the bar ie all the equipment like fridge and sink, shelves, etc. No more caravan. And behind the garage-turned bar there was a container with a toilet.
The whole setup was somewhat home-made. We had delicious natural lemonade which was served in jam jars - a hole had been made in the lid to accommodate a straw! Simple, you just had to think of it!
When we started going again we found that further along the road there was a new bar where nothing had been last year. It was completely empty since one could not know it was there. And all the thirsty pilgrims were syphoned off by the first bar! They will have to put a sign ahead of the other bar to announce themselves.
Nothing special about the rest of the walk. The heat was quite terrible. Oh, and we came to the place where last year there was a bar, but closed, and we had had a picnic and siesta under a tree next to it. Same thing this year, bar closed, picnic and siesta under the same tree - see photo.
In this hostel next to the Porriño town center we have two rooms, one with 4 beds and one with 3 - a very sweaty, sticky setup. Well, tomorrow going to Redondela the heat will be the same, but we have an apartment with 3 rooms, kitchen, washing machine, dryer, etc.

Quoi dire de cette journée si ce n’est la chaleur ! Beaucoup de routes goudronnées bien que souvent ombragées. On a fait un premier et long arrêt dans un bar improvisé qui, l'an dernier avait du être une caravane dans un jardin. Nous l'avions vue l'an dernier à cet endroit et on a reconnu le lieu. Ce n'était pas un bar au top mais on ne savait pas si on en trouverait d'autres ….on s'y est arrêtées et on y a trouvé notre bonheur : des tables et des bancs sous les arbres. Le garage derrière la caravane servait de bar et tout l'équipement tel le frigo et l'évier ainsi que des étagères. Derrière ce bar-garage il y avait un container avec des toilettes.
Toute
l’installation semblait faite par les soins du propriétaire (rien
d'acheté). On a bu une délicieuse limonade faite maison et servie
dans des pots à confiture avec un trou dans le couvercle pour passer
la paille. Il fallait y penser !
En
repartant on a trouvé plus loin un autre bar qui n'était pas là
l'an dernier. Il était totalement vide si bien que personne ne pouvait
savoir qu'il existait. Tous les pèlerins assoiffés se ruaient sur
le premier, le propriétaire aurait du mettre un panneau indiquant sa
présence.
Rien
de particulier à dire à propos de la marche. La chaleur était
terrible. Et nous sommes arrivés à l'endroit où l'an
dernier il y a avait un bar qui était fermé. On y avait
fait une pause picnic avec sieste sous un arbre à proximité. Même chose
cette année, bar fermé, picinic, sieste sous l'arbre - voir la photo.
Dans notre hôtel situé près du centre de la ville de Porriño on a disposé de deux chambres, l'une avec 4 lits l'autre avec 3 - un aménagement très chaud et désagréable.

Bien
, demain on va à Redondéla avec la même chaleur prévue mais on y
trouvera un appartement avec 3 chambres, cuisine, lave linge …
